of the same homeopathic medicine for another eight weeks of treatment and I have never heard from her again , other than her granting me permission to discuss her treatment with you . I must presume that no further news is her ongoing good news .
Discussion
The one and only homeopathic medicine I prescribed to this patient is the closest starter material , or prima materia , that I might surmise to be potentially the precursor of the mythical “ Philosopher ’ s Stone ”, the grail historically pursued by alchemists , which is claimed to be a universal panacea , and perhaps to contain the secret key to longevity .
Known either as Carsinosinum or Carcinosin , this is a homeopathic medicine made from a mammary epithelioma taken from a female patient with breast cancer at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital in the 1950s , by Dr D . M . Foubister . 1 Other British homeopaths - Dr J . H . Compton Burnett , Dr J . H . Clarke and Dr W . L . Templeton - also contributed to the development of Carcinosinum as a homeopathic medicine , as described by W . Boericke . 2 There are a good number of different nosode medicines prepared from cancer tissues , such as Carcinosin adenostum , and other simplexes derived from uterine , ovarian , bowel , colon , lung , stomach , and mammary cancers . When just one tissue sample is used in a nosode , it is designated as a T1 preparation . There are also several commercially available nosodes of Carcinosinum that are T9 , T12 , T15 , T17 , T48 and T58 preparations available from a variety of homeopathic pharmacies , particularly from those in Europe . After Dr Tinus Smits ( 1946-2010 ) gave seminar presentations to his audiences of international homeopaths about his successful clinical use of Carcinosinum , these practitioners returned to their own practices and used the most readily available T1 preparation , though sadly without as good clinical results as Dr Smits had achieved . His explanation for these results was that a mixture of a variety of tumours was needed to make Carcinosinum “ more of a universal remedy , that is applicable to a very wide range of health issues ”. 3
Alchemists proposed the notion that the most revolting substance known to be available is that which would be used as the prima materia for the Philosopher ’ s Stone . Consider then , how much fear and loathing might be provoked by cancer tissue , as cancers are the second most common cause of death in the developed world today . 4 Consider also the sad story 5 of an African-American woman from Baltimore , Henrietta Lacks ( 1920-1951 ), and the HeLa cell cultures derived from her cervical cancer cells that have been distributed around the world to give biotechnologists insight into the commercial use of her immortal cancer cells , once they have been adequately fed and had their wastes removed . What is interesting is that cancer cells can breach the Hayflick Limit . This limit typically results in the planned senescence and death of cells by apoptosis after around 50-70 cycles of cell replication . This is eventually how death in humans by “ old age ” is meant to happen , as a critical organ eventually fails , precipitating death at around 115 years . 6 Yes , that ’ s how long we are physiologically meant to live . Cancer cells can live beyond this Hayflick Limit as they have had a beneficial mutation that upregulates a gene that has been previously silenced at birth . Telomere shortening is how cells count how many cycles of replication have occurred postpartum , to know when their 50-70 cycles are up and when a “ good ” cell death is then planned to occur through apoptosis . Telomerase is an enzyme that supports the massive cell proliferation that occurs in an embryo and foetus before birth . and is required to prevent telomere shortening during the nine-month gestational period of humans . Though telomerase is typically turned off at birth , as the genes that make telomerase are silenced , cancer cells have a mutation that manages to turn telomerase genes back on again and with ample telomerase available they do not suffer telomere shortening , and so become immortal .
Epilogue
Does this sound like the secret to longevity ? Here is a substance that might facilitate reaching the age of 115 years or more , and it ’ s found in a cancer cell . Could cancer cells also be a source of a universal panacea ? Smits ’ use of T15 and T58 preparations of Carcinosinum were empirically highly effective as a “ universal remedy applicable to a very wide range of health issues ”, as clinically illustrated in my “ difficult ” patient above .
I used a brandy and distilled water menstruum for the liquid T58 preparation of my patient ’ s Carcinosinum , which she succussed five times before each dose so that no two doses were the same , and took orally as five drops twice daily away from strong flavours , every day for at least two months , probably more . The appropriately labelled 25ml amber round dropper bottle contained a homochord of five different infinitesimal potencies of Carcinosinum T58 , chosen from the Centesimal scale according to the Fibonacci Series to include 34C , 55C , 89C , 144C and 233C . Quod Erat Demonstrandum .
