The whole community has realized how important health is and has reexamined ways to achieve it . Many have gone back to the garden , growing fruit , vegetables , and herbs . There has been a boom in keeping backyard chooks . People are thinking of where their food comes from . Many are embracing food as medicine practices . Herbs and Herbal Medicine are part of this .

Farming What a difference 12 months makes .
12 months ago , we were suffering through a long hot summer , drought and the constant threat of fire . The summer of 2021 has produced much milder temperatures with significant summer rainfall . The result in Tasmania is most of the herbal crops are 4-6 weeks behind where they were last year . However , the yields are up , and it is looking like a great year on the farm . The most significant challenge on an organic farm in these mild years is the constant need to weed .

Funny how often this herb was grown around the old chook shed . A handy tip for those new to keeping chickens .
