NEWS & EVENTS PACT KEIKI DAY Annually, in support of Parents and Children Together, we participate in their signature event, Keiki Day! Along with 1500+ volunteers statewide, Atlas helps sell special edition newspapers with a portion of the proceeds being donated to PACT. With a total of 32 Atlas volunteers, we raised more than $1500 selling newspapers in two hours! Our best year yet! ENCOURAGING PROFESSIONALS INSPIRING COLLABORATION We are excited to announce the launch of E.P.I.C., an emerging professionals program designed to educate Atlas employees. The voluntary group is currently led by Atlas employees across all departments, with the intention of creating a network for new insurance professionals, providing community engagement opportunities, and encouraging professional and career development education. WHAT’S GOING ON AT ATLAS HOT PURSUIT Our Atlas team had a blast participating in Hospice Hawaii’s Hot Pursuit 2018! The event was a scavenger hunt across Kakaako that included solving clues and completing games in order to receive the next clue. Although our team ran at least 3 miles in total, it was all for a great cause in supporting Hospice Hawaii’s mission of bringing hope, reducing fears, and impacting lives! CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF BPTW To thank our entire staff for recognizing Atlas Insurance as one of Hawaii Business Magazine’s Best Places to Work, we held a catered lunch to celebrate making the list for 10 years in a row! We also brought in a photo booth and held contests for the following picture: best props, best incorporation of company core values, and most creative overall. MYLES’ RETIREMENT In July, the entire company celebrated Myles Murakami’s 17 years of service as Atlas Insurance Agency’s president. Under Myles’ leadership, Atlas doubled its revenue which culminated with a record year in 2017. As a parting gift to Myles and staff, Da Braddahs were on show for some great laughs and to commemorate unforgettable memories. We are all sad to see Myles go, but are happy he is now able to enjoy his golden years with his family. HAPPY 3RD OF JULY To celebrate the 4th of July, we had KC Waffle Dogs come down to office for some mid-morning snacks! The waffle dogs were a nice throwback to the old KC Drive-In on Kapahulu! We even had Chason, our fearless leader, in the Waffle Dog costume...really following in Myles’ footsteps! 3
