2015 FURNITURE TRENDS REPORT 1. A NEW YEAR MEANS A NEW START, AND FURNITURE TRENDS FOR 2015 ARE ALL ABOUT NEW! IF YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING TO REDECORATE YOUR HOME, YOU PICKED AN EXCELLENT YEAR. MAD MEN MODERN We’re familiar with vintage midcentury modern furniture that came back into vogue in a big way, largely thanks to Mad Men. For 2015, watch for furniture styles to continue to honour the past, while moving forward with interesting new silhouettes and shapes. Other trending styles to watch for are vintageinspired furniture pieces that do double-duty as storage and seating. 3. 54 2. ORANGE OVERTONES The various spectrums of the orange colour wheel continue to be strong colour trends for furniture and accessories in 2015. Watch for deep coral, rich salmon and burnt orange tones in paint stores, furniture showrooms and home accent shops. Other trending colours for 2015 include Marsala (Pantone colour of the year) and varying saturations of deep blue. MAGNIFICENT METALS The use of metallic elements in modern interior design is certainly nothing new, but for 2015 it is being used more frequently and in exciting new ways. Watch for coffee tables, lighting, and table accessories in antique gold, burnished bronze, and polished silver metals. Other trending metallic including shimmery shag rugs and metallic cushions.
