I have coached Cate Gifford since 2016 in middle and long distance running and steeple chase . Cate is a very talented and committed athlete , who strives to achieve her best at every opportunity . Cate ’ s determination and enthusiasm for running is second to none . Cate is a pleasure to coach , due to her passion for running and huge work ethic . Cate is a dedicated student of athletics and is always willing to learn and to apply her knowledge to her training .
Cate has competed at State and National level competition numerous times in both middle distance and steeple chase . Recent achievements have included placing 6th in the 3000m steeple chase at the 2016 Australian University Games and has qualified for the 2017 Athletics Australia National Championships for open women ’ s 3000m steeple chase . Cate was also a part of the winning club for 2017 the Athletics Victoria Shield , competing in both the 3000m steeple chase and the 1500m .
Due to Cate ’ s enthusiasm , maturity and achievements she is great role model to all other athletes . These traits will allow her to develop as an athlete and allow her to continue her success into the future .
