Sommerfest and Birthday Cheer
We barely had time to catch our breath before the next request arrived: Hinz & Kunzt’ s annual Sommerfest on September 24. Each year, H & K celebrates its vendors with a street-side barbecue, and they asked whether we might contribute salads and side dishes for roughly eighty guests. Remembering the spectacular spread that our members created at our Fourth of July celebration, we said yes— and what a success it was. Eight members prepared generous salads and baked beans, which turned out to be the stars of the buffet. The party simply wouldn’ t have been the same without them.

Barely a month later came the next celebration: Hinz & Kunzt’ s thirty-second birthday party. Once again, our members stepped up, providing savory and sweet finger foods that rounded out the festivities. And, of course, in between all of this, our regular monthly sandwich runs continued— steady, consistent support whenever a new magazine issue is released.
To everyone who contributed time, food, energy, or good cheer: danke, danke, danke.
