ASUMH was fortunate to be featured in The New York Times in a story about Baxter Regional Medical Center.  The feature was on the front page, above the fold of the paper, and continued on two pages inside.  A photo featured students at ASUMH in the Gotaas Hall health sciences building simulation lab.  CURTIS AND PRISCILLA GRANT FUND NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS AT ASUMH Photo:  ( left to right) Dr. Robin Myers, ASUMH Chancellor; Priscilla Grant and Curtis Grant With a gift of a reproduction 1929 Mercedes Gazelle and other significant contributions, Curtis and Priscilla Grant of Monkey Run, AR, have established support for non-traditional student scholarships to Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) in memory of Carl Velner.  These gifts were made to Arkansas State University-Mountain Home’s Foundation.  The vehicle will be used to generate revenue to support student scholarships. Additionally, the Grants have made other non-cash gifts 31 appraised in excess of $50,000.  These gifts will also be converted to cash to establish the Carl Velner Non-Traditional Student Scholarship.   Priscilla and Curtis Grant are residents of the Twin Lakes Area and Mr. Grant is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Velner was also a Navy veteran, both having served with submarine duty. Dr. Robin Myers, Chancellor of ASUMH, said, “We are very apprecia- tive of the Grant’s generosity and compassion demonstrated through these gifts that will support so many of our students in the future.”
