I began my college journey in 1967 at
the University of Wisconsin. Due to
life circumstances, it was necessary to discontinue my education until 1983,
completing my bachelor’s in 1985 and my master’s in 1987 from Northern
Michigan University. I moved to the area in 1997 and started as an adjunct

continues to grow, employment opportunities should continue to grow. Be-
sides hotel and restaurant management, positions can include event plan-
ning, security and loss prevention, corporate event planning and hospitality
facilities management.
Why is ASUMH a good choice for students? The knowledgeable,
caring faculty and smaller class size help ease the transition from high
school to college for traditional students and help non-traditional students

path? No matter what obstacles life
puts in your path, keep working toward
your goals.
What led you to the discipline
you teach? Most of my employment
career centered around business-
related positions, so teaching in the
business department was a natural fit.
What were your career experiences before ASUMH? I have been
employed in several bookkeeping positions, worked as a waitress/bartender,
managed a golf and country club, managed a medical practice, and prior to
moving to Mountain Home, worked as a paralegal.
What can students expect to learn in your classroom? I hope
that beyond the skills necessary for the discipline, my students learn good
customer services skills, a strong work ethic, and how to persevere through
all the obstacles that life throws in their way.
