and help strengthen the organization’s connection to the terrible events of that day.
ICE Sept 11th Museum Display, A
“Reminder of Why We Do This Job”
Late last year, U.S. Immigration
and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
Office of Public Affairs staff mem-
bers began working in partnership
with the National September 11
Memorial & Museum in New York
City to receive and display approxi-
mately a dozen loaned artifacts re-
covered from Ground Zero follow-
ing the September 11, 2001, attacks
against the United States.
ICE was created through passage of the
Homeland Security Act of 2002, to serve as
part of the country’s unified, national security
response to the 9/11 attacks.
The new display is designed to honor those
lost in the attacks and help strengthen the
organization’s connection to the terrible
events of that day.
