Having had multiple career opportunities in law enforce- ment , intelligence , academia , and the private sector , while being a student of history , Dr . Kiernan knows that barriers have always existed and have been overcome ome through an equally diverse
set of circum- stances : time ; tenacity ; per- sistence and resilience , and sometimes , even luck .
