The sensor cable pair com- prises a standard coaxial ca- ble with an aperture or a continuous slot in the outer conductor to allow Radio Fre- quency ( RF ) energy to couple between the signal traveling inside the cable to a surface wave traveling outside the ca- ble but bound to the cable .
There are two transmitters and receivers in each proces- sor - one TX / RX pair looking left and the second TX / RX pair looking right .
A signal is transmitted and re- ceived from both ends of the sensing cable pair allowing the use of the patented E2EC , enabling a linear port or ap- erture down the entire sens- ing cable ' s length .
