MIST is also a mobile enabled system, for iPhone, Andriod, and
tablets.
If you are one of the 1.4 million people that vis-
it any of the 9,000 federal facilities protected
by Federal Protective Service each day, MIST
was created to keep you safe. MIST calculates a facility’s security level, creates
a design basis threat assessment, and determines
the facility’s current security posture based on over
two thousand data points.
MIST (the Modified Infrastructure Survey Tool), and is
a fully integrated risk management platform devel-
oped by Federal Protective Service (FPS) in cooperation
with Argonne National Laboratory, a Federally Fund-
ed Research and Development Center, to implement
advanced data sciences and risk assessment method-
ologies for facility protection, and is certified by the
Interagency Security Committee (ISC) for use by
any Federal agency. The MIST dashboard takes the data collected, identifies
vulnerabilities, and helps inspectors determine the
countermeasures required to achieve the protection
level recommended by the ISC and RMP.
Argonne has been building advanced parallel com-
puting environments and tools since the 1970s.

ing resources used by researchers to
