The Cricket Society
A suitable case for a partnership?
Anthony Gibson, past recipient of The Cricket Society and
MCC Book of the Year Award for a book about his renowned
cricket-writing father Alan, famously discarded the envelope
containing his winner’s certificate, not realising that there
was a cheque inside too! Frantic searches of the Lord’s
dustbins failed to find it. Douglas Miller, éminence grise of
both the ACO and The Cricket Society, misplaced his hearing
aid at the same ground, but ACO’s Ben Francis was able to
locate it. This led to some useful exchanges, including a
suggestion that the two organisations might cooperate to
mutual benefit.

which will progressively include up-to-date details of
meetings. You are also welcome to sample The Cricket

ACO, perhaps something more regular on umpiring matters.
