Tracey Poggio – chairman of ANTOR:
' There were budget considerations requiring creative thinking in order to achieve the objectives '
became‘ free’, it was easy for interested media to approach and interact with the ANTOR destination member. It also helped organisers to spot if a table was‘ empty’ and direct media to that area. The chairman of ANTOR addressed the room at 7.30pm. A selection of Luxembourg wines to taste were served and caterers offered a selection of canapés and serving‘ butlers’. The view of the Tower of London through the high sash windows in The Library added a quintessentially London element the event.
Due to the flexibility of the event, guests were able to depart the House when it suited.
Why Trinity House was chosen: Trinity House was selected by the organising committee of ANTOR as it fulfilled many of the criteria required, was impressive both externally and internally but relatively unknown and therefore intriguing to invitees. Crucially, the management team, led by Edgar King, were enthusiastic to support the event‘ got behind it’ as much as possible.
The annual‘ Meet The Media’ event is well established and has been a flagship ANTOR event for over two decades. We were pleased to collaborate with Trinity House this year. The expert guided tours of the House were popular and the Library was ideal for our purposes. The venue team were highly professional and ensured the event went off without a hitch. The subsequent feedback confirmed that the venue was indeed something special and added to the enjoyment and success of the event. All in all, it was another triumph from the perspective of both ANTOR co-hosting members and media guests. ANTOR UK is a voluntary, non-political organisation which was established in 1952. It is run by a Board of members, which is elected each year at the association ' s AGM. Trinity House: Over its 200- year history, the building has welcomed royalty, prime ministers and Lords of the Admiralty and is today managed by deputy master, captain Ian McNaught. Reflecting the on-going patronage of the Crown, the current master of the company is HRH The Princess Royal, filling a role held in former centuries by, among others, the diarist Samuel Pepys, the Duke of Wellington, William Pitt and, more recently, The Duke of Edinburgh.
