The full force of the UK meetings and events industry is visible for all to see this month, 1-2 March at Olympia London for International Confex. The show and its co-located * Office and Event Production Shows showcase the full gamut of events and all that goes in to making them tick. One question cropping up at the show ' s sessions will be how we measure our events ' success? And what about their legacies? Association conferences are great examples of how important it is to get the very best technological help to track and measure your event ' s success, as well as ensuring its legacy. Articles from Glasgow City Marketing Bureau ' s head of conventions and from Shocklogic ' s MD address these issues that have sprung to the fore. There are lessons to be learned for all those interested in making their association meetings better in every way. Other practical issues tackled in this issue are the likely impact of General Data Protection Regulation on events, and the rise of the flexi-congress. We also celebrate the unsung heroes, recently recognised at the European Association Awards in Brussels.
