Breaking the ice
ABPCO’s upcoming AGM promises to be
a Titanic gathering of industry figures
June 2019
Things to do in Belfast
1.
Titanic Belfast.
A monument to Belfast’s
maritime heritage doubling as an
impressive events venue, Titanic
Belfast is the location of the dinner
on the evening of 20 June, before the
AGM kicks off. It was named the
World’s Leading Tourist Attraction at
the 2016 World Travel Awards.
2.
Game of Thrones tour.
Belfast and the surrounding
country have been used extensively
as filming locations for Game of
Thrones. Explore The Iron Islands
(better known as Ballintoy Harbour),
Castle Greyjoy (Dunluce Castle),
and Winterfell (Castle Ward), among
many more iconic locations.
3.
Belfast Zoo & Aquarium.
The Belfast Zoological Gardens
and Exploris Aquarium are home to a
huge variety of animal and fish life in
the city. Asian elephants, California sea
lions, Sumatran tigers, crocodiles and
geckos are among the attractions.
ABPCO’s annual general meeting is
sailing into Belfast from 20-21 June, giving
members a chance to network, learn, and be
updated on the association’s goals and plans
for the coming year.
Belfast was chosen to host the AGM
following a three-way bid from partners
VisitBelfast, ICC Belfast and Titanic
Belfast. The event will take place inside the
ICC on Friday 21 June, with a dinner at
Titanic on the Thursday evening prior.
BBC broadcaster David Meade will
provide a keynote speech to kick off
the event, focusing on the theme of
‘Extraordinary Impacts’. He will discuss
how the right mindset can help to create
events with a lasting, positive legacy, which
live long in the memory of delegates.
Following this will be a review of 2018
for ABPCO, and the election of the
association’s new board members.
After lunch, ABPCO will look forward
to the coming year, and discuss its plans for
2019. This will be informed by the results
of the member’s engagement survey, which
was recently completed. The association’s
new website will also be demonstrated.
The AGM will provide an opportunity
for members to network in a unique
location, working together to promote
ABPCO’s values of excellence, learning and
belonging.
