Sponsorship Market intelligence The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) published its annual rankings for cities and countries for the organisation of large association conferences. This much awaited list, while of course not comprehensive and the be all and end all (there are corporate meetings to consider, as well as delegate numbers and a whole host of other factors too), provides an interesting barometer for destinations. The host location, valuable to consider, is but one part of an association meeting (and those that want more detail on the ICCA rankings I’d advise to read our full coverage in Conference & Meetings World magazine and on c-mw.net). There are issues of registration campaigns, abstract collation and ePoster matters - discussed by our friends at Shocklogic on p21; while the big money elephant in the room of event sponsorship is talked about by Slingshot and the CIM on p.18. We also present more expert opinion and case studies for all active in this market to get the very best advice and insight to help do their jobs better, as well as organising better conferences. Visit: www.conference-news.co.uk/aem 18: Slingshot MD Jackie Fast and the Chartered Institute of Marketing share insights on how to maximise the sponsorship opportunity. Technology 21: Abstract made concrete by poster boys Shocklogic, who relate how they delivered a Green scientific programme for a major conference of anaesthetists.
