This is the house that John built. John Mckinnon, a man with a second grade education, a man who use his hands to build houses for his slave masters, yet took that same thing that was meant to keep him down, he took that same skill and used it and made a life for his family. When he became free he and my grandmother raised 11 children and my grandmother never worked one day outside of the home, this is the house that John built. I was born and raised in this home and it still remains in my family until this day. I'm talking about really turning things around and not just talking!
