Stanley Mutoya is the Chief Executive Officer of the African Union Sports Council Region 5. This is
a body whose membership comprises the ten Member Countries of Southern Africa being Angola,
Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Stanley Mutoya is a renowned Sports Administrator who has served in senior positions in Government,
Parastatals, Private sector and Olympic committee where he served on various positions including
being General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee. This was
before he joined the Supreme Council for Sport in Africa Zine V now called African Union Sports Council
Region 5. Stanley Mutoya is a holder of a Bachelor of Science Physical Education and Sport, Bachelor
of Business Administration, Executive Masters in Management of Sports Organisations and a Masters in
Business Administration. Stanley has made significant contributions to the Regional and African sports
trajectory in which he has been instrumental in introducing such programmes and projects as the Podium
Performance Programme, Regional Annual Sports Awards, Regional Marathon and Women Leadership
Programmes among others. He played a leading role in the establishment of the African Union Sports
Council Region 2 and 4 for which he spearheaded the formulation of the respective Regions’ Strategic
Plans and structures. Stanley is passionate about sports development and development through sport
and continues to contribute in various platforms at Regional, African and World levels.
