News from Oceania

‘ Oceania is entering an extraordinary chapter as preparations intensify for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Brisbane. This unique moment is defined by an unprecedented level of cooperation between Australia’ s sporting bodies, all united under the guiding strategies of HP2032 + and WinWell.
These frameworks have been specifically designed by the Australian Sporting System to harness collective expertise and to ensure that every facet of high performance, knowledge sharing, events, and infrastructure shines on the world stage.
Australia’ s legacy as a host nation is built on past experiences from Melbourne 1956 and Sydney 2000, yet there’ s a shared recognition that the long-term impact of the Games requires even greater foresight and preparation. This is why the collaborative spirit is at an alltime high.
The National Institute Network, comprising eight state institutes and the Australian Institute of Sport, works in concert to provide world-class environments for Olympic and Paralympic athletes to develop and thrive.
A shining example of this collaboration is the‘ Para Sport Uplift’, a nationwide initiative funded by the Australian Government and Paralympic Australia, focused on identifying and nurturing future Paralympic talent for 2032. The program identifies new athletes into the system, aiming to reduce barriers for athletes with a disability and help accelerate their integration into national pathways, reflecting the region’ s commitment to inclusion and excellence. As the countdown to Brisbane 2032 continues, Oceania is showcasing the strength of its partnerships and its united ambition to deliver a new benchmark for home Games success and legacy.’
