Paris 2024 , a catalyst for INSEP ’ s international strategy
INSEP ’ s international dimension has been strengthened in the run-up to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games . In addition to the increasing number of visits by foreign delegations in recent years , the exchange of expertise and the relationships of trust established with centers of excellence around the world have helped to further strengthen the presence and influence of INSEP and the centers of the Grand INSEP network in world sport .
Since its creation in 1975 , INSEP has always had an influence beyond its walls . In France of course , but also throughout the world . The institute is known and recognized on the international scene as one of the major centers of high performance sport , in the same way as its counterparts in Europe , Asia and North America . Except that this international dimension has become even stronger in recent years . Moreover , the prospect of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games is no stranger to this . Since the announcement in Lima ( in September 2017 , in Peru , Paris was officially designated the host city of the 2024 Games , ed . note ), there is a reaffirmed interest in INSEP just about everywhere in the world and INSEP made lots of new friends . The Institute has always welcomed foreign delegations ( sports teams , dignitaries , representatives of sports institutions and organizations , etc .), but in the last months , these delegations have increased in number , as have the requests for exchanges of expertise .
Some twenty agreements In order to pursue its development and increase its skills , but also to promote and publicize French know-how in the field of high performance while spreading a positive and welcoming image of France , INSEP has created and developed numerous international networks with the various players in world sport .
INSEP is capitalizing on the solid relationships it have built up over the past few years to ensure that they continue after the Paris Games . With the Australian Institute of Sport , for example , INSEP recently strengthened its relationship to enable Australian and French athletes to prepare for Paris 2024 and Brisbane 2032 respectively in the best possible conditions . Athletes from both nations will be able to compete against each other in the coming years to raise the bar for the future .
The athletes of both nations will be able to measure themselves against each other in the years to come in order to raise their level through a common emulation .
The same will be true for the experts of each institute , whether in the areas of performance , health or training of sports managers for a more sustainable and respectful sport . INSEP ’ s objective this year is to strengthen its ties with the U . S . Olympic and Paralympic training centers in Colorado Spring and Chula Vista to help French sports prepare for Los Angeles 2028 .
Membership in international associations , such as the ASPC , ICCE , ECSS and EAS , and participation in major conferences , congresses and symposiums , as well as in European projects financed by the Erasmus + programs , also help to establish INSEP ’ s international presence and influence .
ASPC 2023 FORUM - Paris - FRANCE
The Institute applied in September 2021 and is now in charge of organizing the Association of Sport Performance Centres ’ World Forum , from October 3 to 6 , 2023 in Paris . This event will provide an opportunity to learn about performance , integration , leadership and management models in elite sports from the various international members of the association .
The program will be based on the theme of “ Leadership and Ethics ”. Several questions will be raised :
• What kind of leaders are needed for a high performance training centers ?
• Link between leaderships and neuroscience ?
• Is female leadership different or even better ?
• How leaders take care of mental health in a training center ? The case of coaches , athletes and staffs
• Well-being at work : how to cope with stress ?
• Innovation and financial models - New collaborations between high-level sport stakeholders .
• Public and private partners : which added values and limits of sponsorships ?
• Communication as part of the leader strategy ?
• How to secure environment for a High performance training ?
• Climate , sustainability and sport as a peace vector ( Paris 2024 legacy )
International cooperation , the international influence of French know-how and the exchange of expertise are now the backbone of INSEP ’ s actions in the field of international relations . The new challenges to be taken into account are clearly induced by the hosting of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024 . This major event gives INSEP a decisive role that it was important to define and anticipate as the historical operator of French sport , but also as a network leader and network facilitator .
INSEP is looking forward to welcoming the world in a few months !
