The PyeongChang Winter Olympics saw the culmination of many years and millions of collective hours of athlete development and preparation. Congratulations to the hosts and to the athletes from ASPC Member Centers who competed at the Winter Games. The IOC’s Athlete 365 Programme featured in our first edition was officially launched at PeyongChang, look out for the IOC Athlete Charter Article and Video in this edition. Our congratulations to Manu, Tapio and their team for the highly successful ASPC European Forum which was held at Magglingen in Switzerland. All the European Forum presentations were recorded and are available here. The 1st ASPC African Continental Forum will be held in Durban from 6-7 September 2018. Prime have once again partnered with the KwaZulu-Natal Department Sport and Recreation, SASCOC and eThekwini Municipality to make the event possible and Dr Kevin Subban and his team are hard at work planning the event. Forum is Sports Performance, an Integrated Approach and the programme promises to provide an excellent professional development opportunity. We followed up with Bennett King who presented at the Durban Forum on the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. The Queensland Academy of Sport and Team Australia have kindly shared statistics on their athletes performance at the event and it makes for impressive reading. Congratulations on an outstanding set of results as hosts. We are always more effective as leaders is our goals are underpinned by a deeper underlying purpose. This edition’s leadership segment is from renowned leadership speaker Andy Stanley and is entitled Powered by Purpose. The ASPC continues to grow in strength (and numbers) and we have had 21 new members joining since our January edition. Welcome to the ASPC family. We hope you enjoy our June edition. The ASPC General Assembly will be held on 25 September at CAR Sant Cugat with the remainder of the Forum being held at FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou from 26 – 27 September 2019, please Save the Date.
