Here, more than 2,000 athletes and coaches discuss their achievements and challenges, access the latest news, view articles from industry experts and read exclusive interviews with Olympic champions. ASPC members are also using the Athlete Learning Gateway to support their athletes and athletes entourage. “The High Performance Centre at the University of Pretoria has used the Athlete Learning Gateway since being made aware of it through one of our Coaches Mr Lindsey Parry being requested to do a course on “The Art and Science of Coaching” which is available on the Athlete Learning Gateway portal. Since then we have found the portal to be of a huge benefit to, not only our athletes, but also our coaches and administrators. There a number of really excellent short courses that one can do and one that we believe is essential for all athletes is the on Sports Media and how to build your athlete brand. One of the bonuses is that the short courses are just that SHORT and do not take a lot of time and they can also be done at your leisure and not necessarily in one session. The subjects covered knows no boundaries and there is something that everyone that has joined can benefit from and is well worth joining if you are not already a member. You can also get your athletes and support staff to join by registering on the Athlete Learning Gateway Portal.” The Athlete Learning Gateway was launched in July 2015 following a recommendation from the IOC Athletes’ and Athletes’ Entourage Commissions. This free educational resource is continuously evolving to meet the needs of athletes and their entourage.
