A tribute to Debbie and Toby Toby Sutcliffe Debbie Low Toby was been actively involved with the ASPC for more than a decade. As the Acting Director of TuksSport at the University of Pretoria and the CEO of the University’s High Performance Centre, Toby has extensive experience in the sport environment which he freely shared with the ASPC. As the President & CEO at Canadian Sport Institute Ontario, Debbie was the Americas VP for 6 years. Debbie hosted the Americas Continental Forum in Toronto in 2012 and was the lead for the 2014 Forum in Bogota. Under his leadership, the ASPC was able to expand their reach in Africa and Toby always ensured the Board was apprised of the different needs of training centres in developing countries. He was a strong proponent of the Mike English exchange program. Toby served a variety of roles within the ASPC including the VP of Africa and then VP of the ASPC. Through his efforts the significance of the ASPC in Africa was materially elevated. He was very involved in the Governance and Marketing Committee bringing his marketing and business perspective to the ASPC Board. Toby was key to keeping our By Laws current. Toby was the key Board liaison to both the Rio (2013) and Durban (2017) Forums. Debbie played a significant leadership role as the Board member responsible for updating our Forum Bid criteria and for leading the ASPC efforts in the selection of future Forum host sites. Debbie was the Chair of the ASPC Governance and Nomination Committee and was always quick to contribute and share her expertise within the ASPC. Debbie ensured the Paralympic perspective was always predominate within the ASPC activities.
