Farmacia around the W rld

" Being involved with pharmacy and getting to know pharmacy students over the past 2 years has made a huge impact in my life and my view of the profession overall."

My name is Bárbara Scoralick Villela, I have just graduate from UNESP (Universidade Estadual Paulista “Júlio de Mesquita Filho”) in Brazil and I am currently the Regional Projects Officer for IPSF PARO (International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation, Pan American Regional Office).

Araraquara, where I studied, is a city in the interior of São Paulo state, about 250km away from São Paulo. One of the most fun cultural parties we have in Brazil, in my opinion, is called "Festa Junina" and during the months of June and July we have street parties with music, food and characteristic clothes. In our school we also host a Festa Junina to raise money and, of course, be with our friends. Also very popular in Araraquara is sertanejo (a sort of country music) and many of our parties (which happen every week during the school year) usually involve country bands. The popular song “Ai se eu the pego” is considered sertanejo.

Our school is one of the best in the country and students have the opportunity to be involved in multiple student groups such as PET (Tutorial Education Program), All Pharma Jr (a junior enterprise), Pharmaceutical Congress and of course, CACIF, our association, like ACEF in Trujillo, Perú.
