A new genre: SUGAR KINK Ink
Patricia A. Knight – Blog
Come be a voyeur. Simple! No
sneaking into Winkies, no
replacing Hawkfeather’s Indian
Captive with Anne of Green
Gables when the manager looked
over. Just some of your time and a
willingness to believe in the
magical.
Sugar kInk!
Sex without STDs or risk of
pregnancy.
I was lucky to grow up before
rampant STDs and in the
neighborhood drug store, Bodice
Burners or Hot Historicals smoked
up the revolving wire bookracks.
Mom wouldn’t let me buy them
but I snuck into Winkies 5 & Dime
every Saturday and “browsed” one
in particular until it was dog-eared.
Hah! I think “Hawkfeather’s
Indian Captive” replaced “the
Mom talk” and created my
ongoing enthrallment with
“burning, thrusting male lances.”
Yep, my fascination with hot,
graphic, sex was born right there in
Winkies’ book aisle. It blossomed
into my later-in-life writing career
as an erotic romance author.
I found out the other day there is a
special name for what I write –
SugarKink – graphic, erotic sex
with only mild BDSM – nothing
hurtful or trespassing into heavy
fetish. Yeah. I like it. SugarKink.
That’s me. So here it is, gentle
reader – without the sneaking
(Winkies is still there you will be
glad to know), no STD’s, no fear
of pregnancy, and I don’t think you
can dog-ear digital. I promise
smoking hot sex where the hero is
worthy, the heroine loves him and
they all live happily-ever-after.
For those of you wanting info on
my delayed release of Hers To
Claim, Book 4 of the Verdantian
series, be of good cheer! I am
finishing the manuscript. It will go
to editors at the end of the month.
Rewrites and redlines will be
finalized and we are looking at a
release date in August. The audio
book for Hers To Command,
Book 1 of the Verdantian series
is in edits and should release in
September. I’ve heard clips of it
and I must say…I’m enjoying it all
over again.
Hope y’all are having a wonderful
summer and finding oodles of
good reads.
Cheers!

Is Reading Erotica Good for You?
Blakely Bennett » Blog
Now let me explain before you go
shaking your head like Lainie often
does in Bittersweet Deceit (out
August 5th). You might be
shocked to find out that reading
erotica, especially for women who
are experiencing a drop in their
libido, will help revive or amp up
their sex life. There are plenty of
the health benefits, which come
from masturbation as well. Women
going through “the change” greatly
reduce their symptoms of dryness
and hot flashes with regular
orgasms.
Reading can help get you in the
mood for some loving as I’ve been
told from my readers time and
again. Some even reread the scenes
they like the best to get revved up.
Many have mentioned reading the
stories out loud to their partner.
