Harold T. Yee Lifetime Achievement Award:
Wai-Yan Sandy Chau
Mr. Wai-Yan Sandy Chau has been active in IT business investments since 1997.
From 1992 to 1997, he was the CEO of one of the largest and most diversified
listed construction and real estate firms in Taiwan. He began his career as head of
a consulting firm for start-ups in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was the founding
president of the influential Asian American Manufacturing Association (AAMA)
in Silicon Valley in 1979, and in 1977 started Universal Semiconductor in San Jose,
California. In the late 1970s, he was in charge of ASIAN, Inc.’s business development
program.
Since 1984, Mr. Chau has been actively involved in various real estate projects in the
U.S. and Far East countries. He has also been an active investor in several companies
including: Achievo, Viador, Servgate, Photonify, EnReach, and Televigation.
Mr. Chau has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California,
Berkeley and an M.B.A.
