FOREWORD
Asia never ceases to enchant, intrigue and educate us. Its
culture, people, practices and landscapes have been captured
by talented photographers and they, who are skilled in different
genres of the visual art, present us with a myriad of perspectives
of the continent.
Colours of Asia — published in conjunction with Images of Asia
2018, Asian Geographic’s annual photo competition — contains
a curation of photographs by award-winning photographers
in Asia and beyond. The book opens with a collection of
stunning images by this year’s competition judges: Manuel
Librodo, Tommy Morris, Brendan O’Se, Jose Jeuland, David Tay,
Gathot Subroto and Shavonne Wong. The subsequent section
showcases the works of four inspiring photographers with
strong portfolios of Asian images: Kim Lau, Donell Gumiran,
Prakhar Tripathi and Miguel Candela. The final section
spotlights winning entries from the Sony World Photography
Awards, the world’s most diverse photography competition
that received 320,000 entries over 4 competitions this year
(10 categories for the professional competition).
We invite you to enjoy the many facets of Asia with us.

photograph their

photograph people in
Black and white, you
photograph their souls!”
