Publisher’s Note
This year marks the 24th year of ADEX, which continues to be the largest
and longest-running dive show in Asia, proudly organised by
the Underwater360 group.
For Underwater360, this is a particularly special year. On September
9, 2009, at 9am, Underwater360 signed the agreement to take over as
the official ADEX organiser. This year, it will be the nineth year since
Underwater360’s first ADEX in 2010!
With the number nine being an auspicious number for us, we will mark
our nineth year by returning to our roots: sharks – the first marine creature
that ADEX was dedicated to back in 2010. This magnificent animal will
be the subject of our presentations to educate the public on their plight and
how each one of us can play our part to preserve them in the wild for
future generations.
The Big Blue Book was among Underwater360’s many additions to ADEX,
and it has quickly become a significant keepsake from the show. This
fact-packed publication was produced exclusively for the dive show, with
content revolving around the endangered species to which each year’s
ADEX was dedicated. Interesting facts, amazing stories, and stunning
images have been curated from our extensive network of passionate
contributors – many of which are loyal exhibitors, speakers and supporters
of ADEX. Through such material, I seek to ignite a passion for the ocean
in new divers and produce a generation eager to assume the mantle of
protecting marine life, while reaffirming the love that veteran divers feel for
the world beneath the waves.

In 2019, ADEX will be celebrating its 25th anniversary, as well as a decade
under Underwater360’s management. We’ve watched the show grow bigger
and better with every passing year, a feat made possible only with the
cooperation of the numerous exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, volunteers,
and visitors throughout the years. We thank you from the bottom of our
hearts for your continuous support, and look forward to sharing many
more years of protecting the ocean with you.
