FROM THE EDITOR
Having rare and thrilling underwater encounters is a privilege not many
are fortunate enough to experience. For the average reader, freediving with
humpbacks, diving into the depths of a cave, and meeting extraordinary
underwater heroes, are a world away from reality.
For me, I am only just stepping into this magnificent world of unfathomable
beauty and charm, and I have already been blown away by the stories that have
been shared. The tales of the blue are unending, and this collection is only a
glimpse of the infinite repository of underwater tales, many of which have not
been documented, nor discovered.
If we’re not careful, it won’t be long till these stories are nothing but legends
of the past, lost with a generation that failed to preserve the beauty they were
born into. These are not myths, legends, nor fiction, but real-life encounters that
offer only a peek into the vast ocean we live with.
So laugh along, be mesmerised, captivated, and even frightened as you
browse through these pages that hold the precious stories of divers around the
world – just as I did.
