Religion
Asia hosts the world's major religions, as well as other less widespread beliefs. Judaism, Christianity and Islam were born in southwest Asia; Buddhism and Hinduism in India; and the so-called Chinese religion, composed of Confucian and Taoist elements, as well as the cult of ancestors, in China. Although its historical impact, direct and indirect, was very important, at present Christianity is only practiced by a small number of Asians (especially in the Philippines and South Korea).
