The Holiday season is in full swing. Last minute shoppers are dashing through the stores filling their carts
with presents for their great Aunt Edna and cousin Sue. The merchants are heaving a sigh of relief that
the season is almost over and they can slow down and enjoy their own holidays with family and friends.
Family and friends, that’s what it’s all about. The presents are nice, and I have a few items on my list this
year because I was a very good girl, but it’s all about spending time with loved ones, and coming together
to celebrate the birth of our savior. Although only about
20% of the entire population of the US regularly attend
church service the rest of the year, they see a higher
attendance in December. Why is it that we are more
religious, more charitable and kind, and more giving at
Christmas than at any other time of year?
The generosity of spirit that abounds at Christmas
should touch our lives every day of the year, and I am
challenging you to carry that feeling with you throughout
2015 – volunteering, perform random acts of kindness,
or just offer a random person a hug now and then. It
could go a long way to cheer someone up and brighten
their day.
