Business Buzz Dish’n Moves to New Location Story and Photos by Sherry B. Johnson Charlotte Berliner opened Dish’n in 2005. She was in her original location where The Flying Pig’s large room is for five years, before moving down the street inside Circa Gallery, which became Vintage Cottage. Charlotte was not actively looking for a new space for the business, but she was in the little park next to City Hall one day having lunch with her husband and her daughter. Ernest noticed the Steve Brown Survey building for sale, and speculated that it would be a great place to live with the shop in the Front. The idea caught Charlotte’s imagination, and they were able to close very quickly because the building had been vacant for six years. They gutted the entire building, and are building their personal residence in the back of the building while the 36 Asheboro Magazine, Issue 51 front is now occupied by Dish’n. They opened on Tuesday, December 2nd in the new location and it’s a great space. With a large open room with exposed brick walls for classes, a separate space for the two kilns and a nice deck on the back overlooking the same park where they first discussed the property. Dish’n is a paint your own pottery studio. Everything you need is included in one low price – your choice of pottery, studio time to paint and decorate the piece, all the tools, brushes, paint, glazes and firing time to complete your personalized piece of pottery. If you are hosting a birthday party, wedding shower, baby showers, school outings, etc. Charlotte will be launching Diva Nights again, so gather up your girl friends, a bottle or two of your favorite beverage and book some time in the studio for fun.
