Resident of the Month,
Joyce Matthews
Joyce Mathews was born on
April 21, 1943, to Asa and Eunice
Matthews of the Ash Grove/
Willard rural area. Growing up,
Joyce had four siblings. Today she
and her brother, Don Matthews of
Morrisville, are the only ones
who remain. Sadly her other siblings have passed away. Joyce
attended Ash Grove school until
1961 when she graduated.
Joyce worked as a sales clerk,
office manager and type setter
(compositor) for the Ash Grove
Commonwealth newspaper.
Joyce has been very fortunate
and has travelled Washington
D.C, Maryland, and has visited
the Smithsonian Institute.
Joyce is a self proclaimed
home body, who likes to collect
brass and onyx collectibles.

In April 2015, Joyce joined
the AGHCF family. Today, she
enjoys visiting with other residents, listening to gospel music,
playing jigsaw and crossword
puzzles on her tablet, playing
Bingo and Bunco, going out to
eat, shopping and participating
in group activities daily.
