Resident of the Month,
Kaye Brisco
Kaye Brisco
was born April
7, 1942, to
parents Wilbur
and Naomi
Sparks in
Springfield,
Missouri, ac-
companied by
her twin sister
Carole Faye.
Kaye has two
younger siblings, Joyce and Leslie.
Kaye attended Everton High School,
graduating in 1960. She was a cheerlead-
er for 6 years. After High School she
enrolled at Revell’s Beauty and Cos-
metology School in Springfield.
Kaye married Bill Darst in October
1960. Together the couple had a family
of three children, David and Daniel
(twins) and Nichole Miller.
Kaye was a hair dresser for 35 years.
She owned and operated four shops
around Springfield.
Kaye enjoyed traveling to Hot
Springs, Arkansas, to see the horse races.
She also visited Yellowstone National
Park, Colorado and Florida. She has vis-
ited the Tennessee and Springfield
Zoo’s. Kaye’s favorite things are roses,
eating Chinese food, the color blue and
decorating homes. Her dream was to be
an interior decorator. She likes to make
children’s clothing, crocheted dishcloths,
afghans, baby clothes, square dancing
and collecting angels.
Kaye and her identical twin, Carole
Faye, always wore matching outfits, held
the same occupations, decorated their
homes with the same color and themes.
Kaye is a member of the Southgate
church in Springfield, and enjoyed help-
ing with Vacation Bible School. Her
advice is to, “Stay in church and live one
day at a time”.
A funny story about Kaye, the first
time she cooked a turkey she cooked the
giblets in it and when she made gravy
she was kidded by her family that, “a cat
could make tracks on that gravy!”
Kaye came to be with the Ash Grove
Healthcare family in October 2018 and
shares her room with her twin sister.
Congratulations on being selected as the
