Resident of the Month,
June Pyaett
June Pyeatt was born at home on
March 3, 1917, to Don and Myrtle-Faye
Wilkerson in Lawerenceburg. Growing
up, June and her sisters known around
town as the “3 J’s” because all three girls
had names that started with the letter “J. It
only seemed right that they all ended up
marrying husbands whose names began
with the letter “P” and to continue this
trend, they all named their first children
with the letter “N.”
June attended Halltown School
through the eleventh grade, where she
played the guard position on her high
school basketball team.
On July 26,1934, June married Orville
Pyeatt in a beautiful outdoor wedding.
After the ceremony, the town presented
them with a traditional chivaree. “It was a
good one!”June says with a giggle. Eventually June and Orville made their home
in Halltown, Mo., where they owned and
operated the Halltown Store. At the age
of 94, June decided to pursue a career in
modeling, which she continues to enjoy.
June has one daughter, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She is a member of the Battlefield
Methodist Church and enjoys shopping,
quilting, sewing, attending group socials
and activities, parties and programs. June
really enjoys the exercise classes, family
visits and dancing classes.
June’s motto for life has been “Have
good friends and help anyone who needs
it.” Congratulations June, for being
chosen as AGHF Resident of the Month!
