Resident of the Month,
Shirley Creed
Shirley Creed was born
July 14, 1936, to parents
Bernard and Latha Jack Wil-
ley in Aldrich, Mo. Shirley
has two sisters. She attended
Dadeville High School and
graduated in 1954.
She has been a member of
the Eudora Baptist Church,
then the First Baptist Church
at Willard where she helped
in teaching Bible classes and
Vacation Bible School and
choir.
Shirley was a cashier for Wal-Mart for 13 years.
She also worked for the Springfield, Mo. Colonial
Bakery Store in the customer service dept.
Shirley has a family of four children, Nadyne and
Ken of Everton, Mo., Nancy and Gary Hall of Willard,
Mo., Dennis and Donna Creed of Springfield, Mo., and
Danny and Trish Creed of Ponca City, Ok. In Addition,
she has eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-
grandchildren.
Shirley’s hobbies include sewing and handiwork.
She made clothing for all her daughters until they were
in high school. She also made several quilts. Shirley
loved having pets, growing a garden and raising flow-
ers. “She had the prettiest and cleanest flower beds,”
said her daughter, Nancy.
She likes music of all kinds and loves Elvis! She
enjoys watching sports on TV and going fishing.
Shirley lived life on a farm and didn’t get to travel very
much. When Shirley was growing up, the family raised
hay, corn, soybeans, turkey and black Angus Cattle. In
one of our reminisce activity groups, she told of how
her mother and grandmother made minced meat pie
filling. She kept us all listening as she told the recipe.
Shirley’s favorite dishes are homemade breads and
homemade chicken and noodles.

Congratulations, Catherine, on being
chosen as Ash Grove Healthcare Facili-
ty’s January Employee of the Month.
Catherine was selected by her peers
for her dedication to AGHCF and to
our residents. The Employee of the
Month for February has yet to be deter-
mined. The individual who is selected
will be featured in the March edition of
the Rocking Chair News.
