Resident of the Month,
Roberta Cowart
ple raised a family of five girls. Roberta now has
11 grandchildren and 15 great-grand children.
Leo passed away in 2001.
Roberta was a telephone operator at the
Choctaw Telephone Company in Halltown, Mo.,
for years. What she liked best about this job was
the friendly people. Her job was omitted in 1975
when dial up phones were put in. That ended the
telephone operator era for the USA.
Roberta has been a member of the Pilgrim’s
Rest Baptist Church of rural Lawrenceburg, a
country church that was started over 100 years
ago. Roberta taught children's Sunday school
classes.
Roberta’s hobbies and past times include
watching golf on TV. She is a fan of Payne Stew-
art. Roberta enjoys watching birds and squirrels
and collecting owls. Her travels have taken her to
