Resident of the Month,
Mildred Renshaw

Mildred Renshaw was born
March 11, 1917, to parents
Ralph and Gertie Painter of
Stone County, Mo. She had
two sisters. Mildred attended
school through the 11th grade
at Walnut Grove and Willard
Schools.
Mildred married Charlie
Renshaw in Nov. 8,1935.
Together they have two chil-

dren, Joyce Johnson and Ralph Renshaw and
two grandchildren. Charlie passed away in
2003.
In addition to being a housewife, Mildred
and her husband owned a dairy farm outside
of Bois D’Arc Mo. They milked their Holstein cattle twice a day and that limited their
being away from the farm duties. In later
years they had beef cattle. She was involved
in the PTA, Center Baptist Church and community events.
Mildred’s hobbies included braiding rugs,
quilting, embroidery, sewing, raising flowers
and houseplants. She enjoys listening to
country, gospel, big band and bluegrass music. She likes baseball and watching Clark
Gable movies. She also enjoyed collecting
copper kitchenware. She was an excellent
cook and was a charter member of the Center
Extension Club.
Mildred has seen a lot of changes in her 99
years and will celebrate her 100th birthday
on March 11, 2017.
