Resident of the Month,
Estella Cropper
Estella Cropper was born July 2,
1927, to Floyd and Essie Brown in
Vidette, Arkansas. Estella grew up with
one sister, Shirley Sabry. Estella attended
the Vidette school.
On Dec. 20, 1941, at the age of 14,
Estella met and married Auston Brown.
Auston and Estella had three children:
Patricia Rogers, Leonard Cropper and
Catherine Louise Henderson. Estella
has been blesses with seven grandchildren,
fifteen great-grandchildren and
two great-great grandchildren.
Through the course of Estella’s life
she obtained her GED at Hartville, Missouri.
Because he was enlisted in the
Army, Auston, Estella and their family
moved to San Juancine, California.
While there, Auston worked as a row
crop farmer. Eventually, the family
moved to Hartville, Missouri, where
they raised cattle.
In 2003, shortly after Auston had
passed away, Estella moved to Walnut
Grove, Missouri. It wasn’t until 2016
that Estella made Ash Grove Healthcare
Facility her home.
Estella has always been active in her
church. She enjoys listening to gospel
and country music. In her free time, she
enjoys doing handwork, sewing, playing
games and attending family events.
Her favorite food is vanilla ice cream.
