Resident of the Month,
Cleo Lollar
Cleo Lollar
was born March
25,1939, to par-
ents John and Ma-
rie Lollar in Dade
County, Missouri.
Cleo attended the
Arcola grade
school, then
graduated from Greenfield High School
in 1957.
Cleo met Elaine through a mutual
friend in Kansas City, Kansas, where
Elaine was born. The couple married on
May 19, 1972, in the Emerson Park
Christian Church in Kansas City. To-
gether they have a family of two chil-
dren; son, Brett, and wife, Mindy Lollar,
and daughter, Tracy, and husband, Vic
Mosby. They have nine wonderful
grandchildren.
Cleo is an Army veteran serving from
1962-1964 during peacetime at Ft. Leon-
ard Wood, Missouri. Cleo worked in
Kansas City at Fairfax District Ware-
house Fiberglas Insulation for 42 years.
The couple are members of the Main
Street Baptist church of Greenfield,
Missouri since 1989. Cleo taught a Sun-
day school class and served on the
building committee for the new church
out south of Greenfield. Cleo has been a
beef cattle farmer all of his life and
farming was what he enjoyed doing
every day.
The couple liked to entertain three
dogs and a cat, Chiefs and Royals ball
games, watching westerns, doing family
events. Cleo speaks of their 10 year old
granddaughter Delaney with a smile on
his face. Their travels have taken them
to Canada, all of the western states and
some eastern states. They like to fre-
quent the Back woods Café in Green-
field.
At the kids ballgames he was a real
boisterous supporter of the team. Elaine
says the children always warned their
friends of his use of loud words that he
liked to use to bluff the kids.
Cleo’s motto is “Live for God.”
We’ve enjoyed having Cleo at Ash
Grove Healthcare Facility since March
2019. Congratulations on being chosen
as resident of the month.
