asfACTS EVANGELISM IN KATUTURA HOSPITAL Anna Nakafingo On the 28th of September 2013 ASF Namibia went on an Evangelism at the Children’s as well as the Orthopaedic ward in Katutura Hospital. Things of this nature (Ministry by the Youth) in our country are not for the youth as they are considered a “waste of time”, Evangelism and preaching of the word is for pastors and priests. It was great to see ASF Namibia is trying hard to walk the walk, by sharing the Gospel of Christ with the sick, sharing the love of God, letting the sick know about the faith that heals, about salvation in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and to clean the face of the hospital. We arrived in the morning; we started the day with a prayer just outside hospital’s main gate, from there we went to the children’s ward. We shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the children and their mothers. This was the day that the Lord had made for us to tell His people about the salvation in the name of Jesus Christ. They should not doubt of what the LORD can do because He is their creator and He knew them before they were born. The Good News as proclaimed by ASFers In the orthopaedic ward, I can say that this was the most interesting part of the whole evangelism program as we were talking to people who are sick not the same with the children because there we were mostly talking to their mothers. It was great interacting with them, there were those who were longing to be well again, those that were willing to listen to the Good News and there also those one who want nothing to do with the Gospel. Members read scriptures, shared their experiences about being sick & how to overcome anything in the name of Jesus Christ. ASFers also encouraged the patients to take their medication properly. We assured the patients that its only faith in God can heal them, ask for forgiveness of their sins for God to be able to hear their prayers for its written that the hands of God are not too short to touch us, His eyes are not blind to see us and His ears are not deaf to hear us but our sins have covered His face to hear us. “ASF Namibia is trying hard to walk the walk, by sharing the Gospel of Christ” ASFers spend the day with the sick Page 8
