How to Say
“Thank You” &
“You're Welcome”
in ASEAN Languages
"Thank you" is a combination of two very simple words yet it means
so much and is very important in our everyday lives. We use it to
express our gratitude and appreciation and to show basic courtesy to
people closest to us and even the ones we only have brief encounters
with. Experts even suggest that using thank you has benefits to our
well-being and emotional health. In Southeast Asia, saying thank
you is part of every custom. It should be reciprocal, therefore, saying
you're welcome is something that comes naturally. Learning how to
say thank you and you're welcome in different ASEAN tongues may
come in handy when you come and visit.
