The Mosque's Interior
Designed and constructed mainly
to be a place of prayer, the
mosque's interior features arches,
half domes, imposing marble
columns, and stained glass
windows typical of places of
worship. Materials used for this
grand mosque were carefully
selected and are all from no less
than the best known sources in the
world. The marble used for the
columns, floors and walls are from
Italy. Shanghai was the source of
the granite. The crystal
chandeliers and the stained glass
that illuminate the mosque's
interior were made in England.
Saudi Arabia was the source of the
mosque's hand woven carpets.
