A picture should compel the viewer to continue to look at the image with a deep aesthetic pleasure. In other words the picture or photo should cause the viewer to be captivated by the beauty or glamor of the shot.
The goal for the model is to be able to unleash everything that the client or employer desirires to be seen in the photo. Too often men models make the mistake of using poses that are typically female poses. This should only be done if the shoot is incorporating a theme of androgeny or unisex into the concept. Other than that the male model should pose with more masculine poses and facial expressions. Remember that your client has hired you as a male model. For female models it is all about glamor and poise. Every pose should look natural and original as much as possible.
It is also a good thing for models to remember that there are literally thousands of would be models and working models who are using certain poses that are original as well as those that are classic poses that everyone uses. There are also those poses that have been used in the past by models from other decades. The new and upcoming model must be able to find their emotional synergy and pull out of their emotions the ability to use their face and their eyes to manifest all kind of emotions and make these emotions believeable and yet make them glamorous.

Even though the neck is not seen as much as is typically desired the photo highlights the face the skin tone and the the color of the shirt and the hat.
