ASCE-NH Newsletter December 2021 | Page 3

PRESIDENT ’ S MESSAGE

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving and that your December / Holiday Season is going well ! I still cannot believe that as I write this that the month of December is halfway to the finish line . Maybe I will start my holiday shopping tomorrow …
Through exceptional efforts that were led by Past-President Hugh Scott , ASCE- NH successfully delivered the 4 th Annual Engineers Day Conference . Like last year , the conference was held virtually over a 3-day span ( 11 / 30-12 / 2 ) and was presented by ASCE-NH and Shea Concrete Products . The event raised just over $ 12,000 for the ASCE-NH Scholarship Fund , which will enable us to offer substantial scholarship opportunities during the 2021 / 22 Program Year . Make sure to read-up on the conference within the Newsletter and thank you again to all sponsors , presenters , and attendees ; this event would not be a success without your support , commitment , and attendance .
With 2022 on the horizon , I wanted to take a moment to mention a couple other items of interest that shall take place in the near future . January will mark the return of our popular ASCE-NH Lunch & Learn Webinar Series . We anticipate having a free , 1-PDH webinar once a month through June . Please make sure to watch your email or check the Newsletter for promotional information / registration . We are also excited to announce the triumphant return of the ASCE-NH Ski Day ! Skiers and riders , please make sure to keep Friday , February 4 th , open in order to enjoy a fun day on the slopes at Loon Mountain .
As we approach the final weeks of 2021 , I hope that everyone is able to take some time to enjoy themselves and reflect on another extraordinary year ; it has certainly been another unique trip around the sun . Likewise , I hope you all take a moment to look forward to the adventures that await in 2022 . I say adventures because on a personal note , that means becoming a first-time parent in late January . Feel free to email me any and all tips – I ’ m going to need them !
Happy Holidays , Happy New Year , and I wish you all the best !!
Aaron Cheever , P . E . ASCE-NH President
