AsBAA DISCOVERY INTRODUCES, MIO – OUR NEW OFFICIAL MASCOT. FOLLOW HIS STORY AS A YOUNG AVIATOR WITH AsBAA IN ACTION Ever since Mio, now aged 8, could talk, he was fascinated with the idea of being a security guard, or a refuse collection truck driver. As security guards in the Philippines are a common sight on a daily basis, this is easy to understand, as is his interest in how trucks as many children love to find out how they work and to explore the moving parts of toy vehicles. Mio took his first helicopter ride when he was 10 months old: an exciting event for such a young child! Before his first birthday, he had the opportunity to be in the front row at the Philippine Hot Air Balloon Festival where he was able to witness anything and everything that flies - helicopters, jets, as well as people skydiving and sitting in airplanes.  His first seaplane experience was before turning 3 years old at Lake Como. Having grown up experiencing these events, it was just a matter of time before Mio would realize, at 7, what he wanted to become.  “I was born to be a pilot” , as he would put it.   11 months old, already exposed to anything that flies. He played on his flight simulator in his Second Officer’ s uniform and role-played “going to work” .  Now, just turned 8, Mio has been taking weekly informal instructional flights on an ultralight.  He even included his flight-training manual as part of his daily school tutorials. Mio “at work” www.asbaa.org Being presented his Flight Training Manual and his very own Pilot’ s Logbook at the ACFC (Angeles City Flying Club).  His instructor’ s vision – Mio will fly solo on his 16th birthday Student Pilot at 8 Not yet a member of AsBAA?
