AsBAA in Action
We trust that our members and the wider community had a restful and enjoyable
Chinese New Year break. February was a busy month for AsBAA and we thank our members
for their engagement and on-going support at the AsBAA events, meetings and activities that
took place around the Region this month. I would also like to take this opportunity as
Chairperson to personally extend my thanks to the team of volunteers that makes up the
AsBAA Board of Directors and Board of Governors. We could not make an impact that
creates opportunities for us all without their investment of time and their on-going
commitment to advancing the industry. In February, we were fortunate to come together for a
series of events that included: the Singapore Airshow, at which we announced an exciting
new memorandum of understanding (MOU) between AsBAA and the Malaysia Airport
Authority. This marks a new programme of work under AsBAA’ s Advocacy Pillar in which we
are working with governments, transport ministries and other authorities to ensure that the
voice of the membership is heard, especially in relation to the development of new
infrastructure around the region. There will be further announcements about this work area coming soon.
In February, we were delighted to host our members at the AsBAA Networking event that took place at the Singapore Airshow.
During the same week, we also had an opportunity for us to reconnect with our student ambassadors under the Discovery
programme. In addition, the AsBAA leadership met for an internal strategy meeting to pool member’ s feedback from around the
region and use this to help shape our policies and activities going forward.
Next up will be ABACE2018 and we are very much looking forward to working with our fellow IBAC member association, NBAA on
the delivery of another great show. AsBAA will be supporting NBAA in the delivery of the Education Programme which is made up
of panel discussions on key topics affecting the industry on days 1-2 and also the student day on day 3. AsBAA looks forward to
connecting with our members in Shanghai and if you have not yet registered your interest in taking up a speaking position on the
education sessions, and you would like to get involved, please get in touch.
We look forward to seeing you all again soon. Please enjoy this edition of AsBAA in Action.
