Journal Club December 2015 Journal  Club  Goes  Online   Everyone,  now  can  have  permanent   information  and  can  always  be  connected   and  entries  would  be  seen  faster.     From  now  on,  you  can  read  the   entries  of  the  journal  club  in  any  place  and   in  any  time  with  all  types  of  devices  you   normally  use  such  as  with  your  phone,   computer,  tablet…     All  members  of  the  journal  club  appreciate   all  type  of  advice  related  with  this  new   feature.     As  everybody  already  should  know,   students  in  the  ASB  has  from  a  couple  years   know,  a  Journal  Club.  Until  now,  all  the   entries  made  from  the  journal  club  had   been  posted  on  the  school  newspaper.     This  year,  there  will  be  a  new  feature,   there  will  be  an  online  version  of  the   Journal  Club,  on  the  school’s  website,  there   will  be  section  dedicated  to  the  Journal  Club   and  from  now  onwards  everyone  would   have  two  possibilities  to  read  the  entries   -­‐Carlos  Sanchez  (Grade  11)   made  by  Upper  School  students  at  ASB.     Pink Day at ASB A  few  weeks  ago,  the  school   organized  a  “Pink  Day”.   Pink  Day  was  organized  in   order  to  raise  cancer   awareness  and  the   response  was  extremely   positive.  In  order  to   collaborate  with  this  cause,   the  whole  school  had  to   come  dressed  in  a  pink   outPit,  hence  the  name.  To   the  surprise  of  a  lot  of   people,  many  teachers  and   students  showed  up  on   Friday  wearing  something   pink.  Even  people  who   think  that  this  color  is  girly  and  childish,  wanted  to  participate  and   felt  very  proud  of  wearing  this  color.  On  top  of  that,  many  students   and  teachers  provided  great   donations  that  will  be  given   for  breast  cancer  research.   This  event  was  a  great   opportunity  to  show  that   the  school  is  a  great   community  that  is  able  to   show  that  they  can  come   together  for  a  good  cause.   On  top  of  that  it  showed   students  to  become  caring   for  their  community  and   rePlective  upon  the   important  issues  that  are   taking  place  in  the  world.     -­‐Naroa  Quintana  (Grade  12)   the  biggest  events  of  the  school.  Juniors  worked   two  days,  the  Pirst  day  was  all  about  helping  and   transporting  all  of  the  goods  for  the  event.  The   morning  of  the  second  day  we  prepared  the   Haunted  House,  whic h  was  a  complete  success   and  at  the  afternoon  the  11th  graders  were   carrying  out  all  of  the  Halloween  activities  of  the   school.    Everyone  was  having  a  great  time,  we   could  see  all  the  children  running  from  side  to   side,  parents  talking  and  collaborating  with  the   event,  the  parents  working  on  the  barbecue  with   a  clear  overbooking,  the  Paella  makers  with  huge   lines  of  people  waiting  till  their  turn  and    more   Halloween  has  always  been  very  important  in  our   children  entering  and  going  out  of  the  haunted   school.  Juniors  have  always  the  responsibility  of   house.   preparing  and  organising  this  wonderful  event.  In   collaboration  with  the  PTO,  the  11th  graders  have   -­‐Rodrigo  Martinez  (Grade  11)   prepared  and  organised  one  of  the  biggest  if  not   Halloween Journal Club 2
