sde forum 2018

Synergy'3

Synergy 3 – The SDE Forum of Wayanad was conducted on 28th January 2018 at Hotel Wilton, Sulthan Bathery. It was a great opportunity for the SDEs to upgrade themselves in their training skills and classroom management techniques.

Synergy 3 opened with welcome note and introductory comments by the DPM, Ms. Mercy Priya. She raised that the forums are platforms for the SDEs to get tuned with the developments, challenges, demands and the career growth plans as part of ASAP.

Synergy 3 was beautiful with its well-executed microteaching by five SDEs – Shadeer, Muneer, Nizamudheen, Priyadarshini and Faseela. Most of them did their sessions with at-most care and it was evident that the SDEs had thorough knowledge on their topic. Each one of them used innovative ideas and activities to convey the topic with its detailed description. Each microteaching session was assessed and evaluated by Mr.Roy - English Faculty member from St.Mary’s College, and DPM, Ms.Mercy Priya. Both of them and representatives from the participants gave constructive feedback to the SDEs so that the sessions can be even better. Among the five microteaching sessions, Mr.Muneer’s received the highest grade and was declared as the best microteaching so far conducted by ASAP Wayanad in the last one year.

Synergy 3 introduced a new concept - Classroom Psychology, which is very important for all the SDEs to know and master in. Mr.Jijoy Joseph, SDE Forum Chairperson and Mr.Kishore, SDE facilitated the session. As part of classroom psychology, different types of personalities among the students were introduced, the behavioural patterns of such children were explained and the corrective measures were discussed. Through role plays, the response of a trainer to various problematic situations and in handling difficult students was demonstrated. Every child has to be considered and given importance. They need to be understood with their strength and weakness.

Synergy 3 gave an opportunity for the participants for intellectual involvement and to solve problems and puzzles as teams. This was a great team building activity and this was also a platform for the team members to interact with and to get to know each other.

DPM Ms. Mercy Priya introduced ASAP Summer Skill Skool to the SDEs and gave brief about the courses offered, eligibility criteria and fee structure. She announced the date of next SDE Forum Meet as 12th May 2018.

The SDE Forum Meet was concluded by Vote of Thanks by Mr. Jijoy Joseph, Chairman of SDE Forum. Lunch and refreshment was provided to the participants. The infrastructural arrangement and ambience of the venue was good. The SDE Forum meet created a platform for the SDEs to upgrade themselves with new classroom management techniques.
